“To me, painting, writing, and music are Romantic-existential acts: ways of remembering the world by allowing its living presence to take form. Light is the metaphysical thread; image, word, and sound are the ways it becomes perceptible.

 

Hildegard of Bingen’s viriditas names my impulse: a greening vitality within perception, an awakened faith moving through maker and material—sap, not doctrine.

 

What flows seeks form; what finds form remembers. In oil, language, or song, creation becomes reciprocity: the world offers itself in moments, and I answer with attention and form. To exist is to remember; to remember is a living act.

 

Across series and seasons, chance and grace leave their traces. Text, image, and sound answer one another as passages rather than conclusions—synaesthetic crossings where the visible can be heard, the audible can be felt, and inner life remains in living relation with the breathing world.

 

This reciprocal way of thinking and making is what I call symphilosophy.”
